Description
"The Waiting Room" is a virtual space that 50 users share through the Internet. The visitors to the space are strangers, united by the software, the Internet, and the artwork itself. In this space the visitor becomes a participant in a moving painting. Their actions activate and shape the artwork. The users are the motivating force that shifts the artwork through moods, from hard-edged to atmospheric, from dark to light, from quiet to chaotic. Each click creates a shape, a shadow or a wall, a suggestion of architecture or a dissolving light. As in the waiting rooms of the real world, there is an edgy sense of anticipation about what's going to happen next. In this case "what happens next" is up to the users.
