Description
Speaking in Tongues is a gallery based environment examining Our relationship with narrative and dataflow invisibly coursing through our environment all the time space where all manner of wireless transmission augments our Spheres of Influence while both mapping and describing Us. Gallery visitors are encouraged to use stethoscopes and listen to a wall behind which banks of speakers endlessly playback audible fragments plucked from the ether (mobile phone calls, broadcast radio transmissions, taxi radio etc.)

In this way the gallery wall becomes like a net, translating the sounds of silence on which users can scrutinise both as narcissist and voyeur.
