Born in Brunswick, Germany, in 1951. Studied economics and communications at University of Hannover and University of Göttingen, 1973-79. Artist and publisher. Editor of European Photography magazine, Göttingen and Berlin, since 1980. 1985-94 consultant for "European Photography Award", Frankfurt and Bad Homburg. 1986 publication of Vilém Flusser's "Die Schrift - Hat Schreiben Zukunft?" ("Scripture - The Future of Writing") as an electronic book on diskette. 1996 foundation of "Edition Flusser." Since 1997 visiting professor at the Higher Institute for Fine Arts, Antwerp, Belgium.
