About

I was born in Venezuela and moved to the United States in 2000. I’m an artist originally trained as a Civil Engineer with a Master of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in printmaking at the Florida Atlantic University.
My current work explores a new approach to feminist concepts that are being explored by many artists: the idea of separating personal identity from the body, and digitally objectifying the female figure. Working with new technology allows me to approach creating art and expressing ideas in a different manner. My work integrates new technologies and traditional craftsmanship techniques such as silk screening, cyanotype, intaglio, relief and collagraph. My goal is to create images that echo the past while embracing the future.
I am especially interested in feminist topics, the repetitive cycles of historical trend and socio-political content. I use digitally generated graphics to create intrigue and profound work that encourages the viewer to question the value of society’s tenets.
