Ethan Bach is internationally known for his media art which is primarily in immersive and interactive media. Bach received an MFA in Electronic Arts from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2008 and BA in Media Production from The Evergreen State College in 1996.
Ethan Bach utilizes technology to create change through challenging preconceived notions about society, the world and oneself. As a Transgender artists who grew up in the heart of the Riot Grrl, Third-wave feminism and DIY movement of Olympia is the 90s, Bach expresses his cultural and personal realizations through technology while embedding a meditative Buddhist approach in interactive media.

Bach’s won awards from the Santa Fe Arts Commission, New Mexico Film Visions, and New Mexico Art in Public Spaces. Solo Exhibitions include the interactive international telepresence performance installation, “Retrieving Humanity” (2010) at the Santa Fe Complex, as well as “Translations” (2010) at the NW Film Forum in Seattle. His recent work interactive video installation “The Royal Road Project” has shown at Aqua Art as part of Art Basel Miami (2012), the NM Arts Building and Currents 2013. He’s been invited to show at international experimental media and film exhibitions from Bangalore to Madrid and New York to Seattle.

Bach Multimedia provides a plethora of services in Consulting, Project Management, and Art Production with an emphasis on immersive media specifically digital dome (fulldome) environments. We provide training for artists and producers in dome production techniques, curation and management for shows, as well as project management.

Clients (current and former): Vortex Immersion, CNS Communications, IMERSA (Immersive Media, Entertainment, Research, Science and Art), New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Santa Fe, Santa Fe Complex, Fast Forward New Mexico, Sanctuary for Independent Media, and the Institute of American Indian Arts among others.

Project management including worked directly with research and development, budget management, operations, public relations, reporting, event planning, grant writing, overseeing employees, prospect research, and strategic planning. Designed marketing strategies, created training workshops, developed industry and producer relationships to support growing development of the digital dome. Identified, wrote, and acted as Primary Investigator on $575,000 technology research grant.
Spearheaded the launch of the digital dome including final installation, events, presentations, research, rental, production and projected growth with emphasis on emerging technology including immersive game development
Marketed and leveraged the digital dome to gain international recognition as a leaders of this technology in the world within one year’s time
Co-created software and hardware configuration that allows for interactivity in the digital dome
